June 10th lesson

Dear students, Today you will have a student-led activity and after that you will take a mid-term test. This is a written test and will have a time limit of seventy minutes. You should choose one topic from below: a) Frankenstein b) Harry Potter c) A nation of the 2019 Rugby World Cup After you have chosen your topic you should decide your main idea about it. For example, why it is popular, what is interesting about it, why you like it. Ideally this should be framed by your sub-topics (a, b, c). 1) You should draw a concept map including details and examples. 2) Draw rough sketches of your slides. 3) Cite your sources. (Where did you search for your information?) 4) Make notes for your speech. 5) Express your opinion on the topic (critical thinking). After you have finished the test, please answer the social issues questionnaire below and submit it. June 3rd lesson

Dear students, Today you will deliver your second presentation. Each student should speak for a minimum of three minutes and include a graph / chart as part of her presentation. May 27th lesson

Dear students, Today you will prepare for your second presentation. If you haven't done so already, you should conduct a survey today so that you can present the results as a graph in your presentation. Period 1 students will present about culture on June 3rd. Period 2 students will talk about Japanese society. Remember to say something new and interesting, research well and think critically. Kind regards, Chris Elvin

May 20th lesson

Dear students, Today you will finish off presenting about your hometowns and after that start a new topic. First you will have a student-led activity, and then discuss what you would like to talk about. For example,  education, technology, society, communication, gender, globalization, endangered species, politics, fashion, art, countries, health, Japanese culture, Tokyo, youth culture. Your next presentation will also include a graph such as a bar chart, so today you should collect data from your classmates as a survey and prepare the results for presentation.
