Course Description and Objectives
This course is designed primarily to improve students’ presentation skills and thereby to develop their integrative English language proficiency.In spring the goal is to acquire basic presentations skills, including how to organize a presentation, supporting arguments with evidence, effective use of visual aids, and aspects of delivery such as eye contact or gesture.  Students base their presentations on the basic patterns taught and learn to speak from notes.  More skilled students make longer persuasive presentations as the term progresses.  The class is conducted in English.
  
Grading

Digital Assignments
• A one-minute self-introduction uploaded to the private blog. 10 points
• A two-minute interview uploaded to the private blog. 10 points
• Homework assignments. 30 points

Student-led Activity
• A pairwork presentation which introduces a website or an app that helps English language learning or can be used to enhance digital presentations. 10 points

Final Presentation
• A final solo or pair presentation. 20 points

July 4th lesson

Dear students, Today you will deliver your fifth in-class presentation assignment by persuading the class that your opinion about one of the social issues topics is the correct one. These presentations will be in front of the class, like usual. You will be assessed on content and delivery. Please remember to speak to your audience using regular eye contact. Your speech should be new, interesting, well-researched, contain elements of critical thinking, and you should speak for at least three minutes, have clear, well-organized slides, and use English correctly.
