Shirayuri University - Digital Presentation - Chris Elvin

Dear students,
Welcome to Chris Elvin's blog for students of Shirayuri University digital presentation course on Monday morning, periods 1 and 2. Please read the blog every week in order to find out about homework assignments, what you will be doing in class, and to exchange feedback with your peers.

Grading
A) Attendance (10 points)
B) A pair presentation about an app or website which is useful (10 points)
C) A two-minute self-introduction (10 points)
D) Class presentations (40 points)
E) A seventy-minute mid-term paper test or a three-minute presentation (10 points)
F) A five-minute final solo presentation (20 points)

A: Attendance (10)
You should attend every lesson and be on time. Once you arrive in class, log in using the Google form below. (You must not sign in until you have arrived in class).

ATTENDANCE

B: Introduce an app or website (10)
Every week two students will start the lesson by introducing an app or website which is useful to you for school or otherwise. You should speak for about two or three minutes per person. Ideally you will show your app or website and explain its features clearly. Try to talk about something which is not too familiar already.

C: A two-minute self-introduction (10)
At the beginning of the term you will write a short speech about yourself and read it to your classmates. Your classmates will give you feedback about your talk using the form below. The average score that you give for each criteria per class should be about 7 points per person.

PRESENTATION FEEDBACK

D: Class presentations (40)
You will practice and deliver several presentations during the semester. Usually, you will make four speeches with each one speech being worth 10 points. Use the feedback form above to give feedback to your fellow students. (The average score that you give for each criteria per class should be about 7 points per person.). Your teacher will grade your presentations and give feedback to you, too.

E) Mid-term assignment (10)
Your mid-term assignment may be a paper test; or it could be an actual presentation, either solo, or pair, or as a group.

F) Final assignment (20)
Your final assignment will be a solo presentation which should not be shorter than five minutes in length. Therefore, it will take two classes in order to conduct all of them. Again, use the feedback form above to give feedback to your classmates. Your teacher will grade these final solo presentations out of 20 points.

Kind regards and good luck!
Chris Elvin
